ALL IN A BADAMI #6

…….I mean in a nutshell …  by Vishnu Hathiramani             vishnu@skybroadband.com.ph
What Life is all about?

See the picture above. Life is described in the best perspective.
Feeding bottle, Cola drink, Beer and Dextrose finally. So true.
Life is faith.
Faith is established through intuitive or transcendent experience of an individual, study of scripture and hearing the testimony of the many wise Rishis speaking out the same truths over thousands of years. This inner conviction is based in the divine sight of the third eye center, ajna chakra.
Rightly founded, faith transcends reason, but does not conflict with reason. Faith also means confidence, as in the testimony and reputation of other people. The Sanskrit equivalent is shraddha.
Many decades ago, in a small village in Italy, they held a community affair and the subject was “faith”. Many came in with different ideas, versions and opinions. Prizes were at stake. A guy even came in with a Gun and when asked how come, he said “I am a Mafia and my faith is in my gun”.

But the funniest was the child who bought an umbrella, despite being summer time.  Many spoke wisely, some argumentatively and some stupidly. Faith was discussed, analyzed and reviewed. Still not everyone was convinced. Till it rained.
The child with the umbrella proved what is “Faith is all about”. He wanted it to rain that day, since his house had no fan or air condition, so as to cool down the weather. Yet most laughed at his faith.
Faith is an awesome force that can give us the power to accomplish the seemingly impossible. There are many well-known examples of the power of faith in action. Mother Theresa, for instance, always had faith that God would somehow provide the food, money and provisions she needed to continue her service to the poorest of the poor. Writings about her work are filled with miracle stories of how the things she needed showed up exactly when she needed them, often in the most surprising ways.
Walt Disney died months before the much-awaited opening of his second theme park at Florida, USA. At the opening ceremony, someone said to Roy Disney, Walt Disney's brother: "It is a shame that your brother did not live to see this." Roy replied: "Oh, yes, he saw it; that is why it is here."

Sir Edmund Hillary became the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest - but only after failing several times. After one failure, he shook his fist at the mountain and said: "You have defeated me, but I will return and I will defeat you, because you can't get any bigger, but I can." And he did in 1953. If you want to be bigger, better and bolder, you need to have faith.
And what is “Sindhi faith”:
If the wife’s credit card is stolen, then the faith of the Sindhi is with the thief. He would not report to the credit card Company, because his faith is that the thief will spend less than his wife will. Wah Wah Sindhi.
That the price of Johnny Walker will never increase.

That faith would take care of you for everything. Faith by the way is the name of the secretary.
Faith that your export bills will be paid on time, faith that if not the bank will extend you more credit.
The share price will go above your purchase price.
He will be served Papad, Chili Pakoras and JWB wherever he goes.
The Vegetarians will never be served non-vegetarian dishes even by mistake.
Just returned from the China canton fair. Three observations.

  1. Prices have gone up, suppliers need more deposits and the crowd was less. The 2nd building was already in use at the Pazhou complex.
  2. Papa John pizza has joined McDonald’s as the second western food joint inside the fair complex.
  3. The entire session of the China fair will undergo drastic changes. Effective the next fair, there will be three sessions instead of two. The Liuhua complex will be shut down and booths transferred at the Pazhou fair.

The full report in our China section.

I would like to thank a friend from Mumbai who send me these liners:
I have learned

  1. I have learned - That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you are down will be the ones to
    help you get back up.
  2. I have learned - That just because someone does not love you the way you want them to does not mean
they don’t love you with all they have.
  3. I have learned - That maturity has more to do with the experiences you have had and what you have learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you have celebrated.
  4. I have learned - That no matter how good a friend is, He or she is going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive him or her for that.
  5. I have learned - That it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. You have to learn to forgive yourself.
  6. I have learned - That no matter how badly your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief.
  7. I have learned - That background and circumstances May have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

From the Editor: That if I do not regularly update my Badami column, I get many complaints and follow-ups.
What others do to you is their Karma. How you react will be your Karma.
