Shanghai Tang, a leading global brand, was launched in the Philippines on December 1. SM Department Store and Branded Lifestyle Inc. introduced Shanghai Tang’s Spring 2009 Collection to select guests at One Esplanade. Shanghai Tang exudes vibrant charm and modern sophistication. Its eyewear collection incorporates eye-catching Chinese motifs with vibrant colors integrated into each distinctive design. Since its inception in 1994, Shanghai Tang has advanced the expression of Chinese chic by fusing modern design concepts with the Chinese-inspired elements of earth, wind, water and fire.

The eyewear collection features sleek and stylish looks combined with modern interpretations of traditional Chinese adornments, creating a one-of-a-kind look that is undeniably Shanghai Tang. Presenting a stunning range of sunglasses and frames, the collection includes models for both men and women. Last December 1, all roads led to One Esplanade at the Mall of Asia complex where Shanghai Tang held its debut event. In attendance were the Sy Family headed By Ms. Tessie Cozon of SM Department Store and the Mirani Family of Branded Lifestyle Inc among other guests. Cocktails and champagne flowed courtesy of Moet & Chandon Champagne, Hennessy Cognac and Grand Marnier. The main hall was turned into a cocktail area and an exclusive private sale was ongoing for select VIPs.

Special discounts were extended to all courtesy of Branded Lifestyle Inc. the sole distributor of Shanghai Tang and other Designer Eyewear Labels including Prada, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Calvin Klein, Ray-Ban, Burberry etc. The event culminated with a spectacular fashion show which highlighted the Spring 2009 collection of Shanghai Tang as well as the other Branded Lifestyle Inc. designer eyewear collections. Clothes were flown in from Hong Kong to showcase the Shanghai Tang lifestyle and make-up was provided by The Natural Source, altogether heightening the grandeur of the show. The runway show, rivaling those of New York, London and Paris, was perfectly executed with dancers, models, and stagecraft all emphasizing the lifestyle and luxury brought to the Philippines by SM Department Store and Branded Lifestyle Inc.

To complete the event, select guests received fortune cookies which when cracked revealed prizes including free pairs of Shanghai Tang. The eyewear is presented in a stylish fan shaped case with a beautiful silk lining, Chinese coin, jade like bead and silk tassel. It is supplied with Shanghai Tang crest logo in micro fiber lens cloth.
